Happy at Home has been serving seniors and their families for over a decade. What started as a desire to provide better options for seniors, Happy at Home has stayed true to its hometown roots all along the way.

While going to college in San Luis Obispo and working as a waitress Kaliahna applied for a kitchen staff job at a local retirement home. Turns out the kitchen didn’t need help, but the caregiving department did, and she found herself in an interview that changed the course of her life.

Read More This job is where her simple passion for serving seniors began. She quickly learned the ropes of the 90 bed facility and was promoted to medication technician within her first year. As corny as it may sound, she simply learned that she really loved old people. Kaliahna fell in love with the stories and history they had to share and the way helping them forced her to slow down. After spending several years at this facility she moved onto an in home care position for the flexibility of schedule it provided.

After moving to Chico to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Kaliahna knew she wanted to continue providing care for seniors, but from the caregiver’s perspective. Many agencies and facilities are operated by those who have never themselves provided care for others and Kaliahna saw a need to change that.

People directly providing care know how to connect with and meet the needs of their clients while also needing a place to work where they feel valued and appreciated. Happy at Home has been a workplace for hundreds over the years and is always working to improve and connect with caregivers and their needs when serving seniors.

The Cutler family has been multi-generational entrepreneurs/business owners, so starting something from nothing was not a new idea for them. This spirit combined with hearts for helping and serving others is what convinced Don and Vickie Cutler to take a leap of faith on their daughter’s idea to start an in-home care agency in 2013. After considering franchise options, the three ultimately decided to start their own brand and build Happy at Home.

Adele Schneider

Office Manager

I have worked with Happy at Home for over 8 years as a Scheduling Manager and currently as their Office Manager. I love the clients and caregivers that we get to work with, and I love the leadership team we have created. I am a graduate of Sonoma State University with a degree in Business Administration, focusing within HR and Marketing. When I’m not working for Happy at Home, you can find me hanging out with my two kids, volunteering at their school, hiking, going to the beach or enjoying anything outdoors. Happy at Home has been my “work home” for over 8 years and I can’t wait to continue growing and being a part of a business that helps provide joy and happiness to the elderly community.

Sarah Sloan

Scheduling Manager

My name is Sarah, I was born and raised in the north state. It’s always been my passion and happiness to help those in my community age in place in the homes they have built and loved. I love spending time traveling with my grandparents, husband, son, and doggy’s anywhere adventure takes us.

Austin Gerbert

Care Coordinator

I grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Chico for college in 2010. I studied psychology while at CSU Chico. I started working at Happy at Home in 2019. I love helping make sure we are providing the best care we can for all of our clients.

Kaliahna Tripp

Owner and General Manager

Kaliahna’s journey in senior care began while working as a waitress in college, seeking more meaningful work. In 2008, she started as a caregiver at a senior facility, later becoming a med-tech in memory care before transitioning to in-home care. This experience ignited her passion for helping seniors age comfortably at home. Inspired by her great-grandmother’s wish to stay in her own home, Kaliahna and her family turned their shared vision into a dedicated senior care agency, providing compassionate, personalized care.

Sara Tracy

Community Outreach Coordinator

Sara is a passionate outreach coordinator and networker who thrives on connecting people at events and building lasting relationships. When she’s not out meeting new faces, you’ll find her enjoying long walks, soaking in nature, or juggling life as a proud mama. Balancing it all with a smile, she brings warmth, energy, and enthusiasm to every interaction!

Karalissa Cutler

On-Call Support Manager

Karalissa is our long distance love bomb who helps with on-call management after hours all the way from Idaho. When she’s not helping those in need in the middle of the night, she’s chasing after her two sons or attending worship at her local church. Karalissa has been in senior care for 15 years and served Happy at Home as a caregiver and scheduling manager before her move several years ago.
